The former President of AGN has experienced a failed marriage with his ex-wife Nollywood Actress Ann Njamanze. He stated that many celebrities are not helping themselves by putting their private lives on Social Medias.
Here’s what Segun Arinze said to Linda Ikeji Blog (LIB) about social media and celebrity marriages:
“Social media is helping to destroy many marriages and a lot of our so called celebrities are not helping themselves by putting their marriages and relationships on social media.
Your private life should should be private. I have had my share of it. Remember i had a broken marriage before i remarried again. Learn to keep your keep your private life private and your public life public” – Segun Arinze
The 52-year-old actor went on to say:
“You don’t let the whole world come into your life to see what you are doing because the same people who are seeing you today are going to mock you tomorrow.
As a public figure, it’s already tough being a public figure. Celebrities need to seperate their private lives from the public, only show what’s neccessary if it is important. It’s really crazy how everybody post about their private lives on the internet, looking for likes and all that.
Social media has it’s advantages in terms of reaching out to fans, marketing and promoting of your brands. But the disadvantages will come back to hurt you” – Segun Arinze
Segun Arinze and his first wife Ann Njemanze went their seperate ways after 14 years of marriage and the union was blessed with a daughter Renny. He later remarried his second wife Julie Arinze and they are blessed with 3 children (2 boys and a girl).
