DEATH IN NOLLYWOOD: The Nigeria Movie Industry has once again been thrown into mourning after the death of another great actor Olumide Bakare. He died in the early hours of today April 22nd, 2017, after battling with a respiratory disorder problem for some years. 😢😢😢
Olumide Bakare Dead
According to report gathered, Bakare who has been sick for more than a year was discharged from from UCH last year after he was diagnosed of heart problem. The actor was yet to fully recover which kept him indoor for months.
The health issue got worse in the middle of last night and was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan by his Personal Assistant but unfortunately, he gave up the ghost before they arrived the hospital.
Olumide Bakare Ailment
While Bakare was still alive, here’s the statement he made about his ailment:
“We have been treating this ailment since 2013. But you know that things like that don’t go easily. Sometime ago, the sickness resurfaced and i was rushed to the emergency unit at UCH where i have been admitted” – Late Olumide Bakare
One of his colleagues Saidi Balogun who confirmed the news and had this to say about the death of the actor:
“Yes, it is true. Olumide Bakare is dead. He died on his way to the hospital. When i called his number, his personal assistant picked his phone and told me he was dead. That’s how much i can say for now.” – Saidi Balogun
About Olumide Bakare
Olamide Bakare was born on the 22nd of November 1953. He was popularly called Chief Koko after he played the lead in the TV drama – Koko Close. He has featured in several movies and TV dramas.
His sudden death came as a shock to many and would be greatly missed in the industry. He is survived by his wife and 4 children.
