Nollywood News: Negative roumours have been trailing Emeka Ike since he took over Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Presidency from Ibinabo Fiberesima. New reports suggests AGN President Emeka Ike, and the national secretary, Samuel Onibiyo, are at loggerheads.
According to sources, it was alleged that an argument had ensued between the national secretary and the AGN President over negligence and constitutional breaches by Emeka Ike, during a church service attended by the executives in Onitsha.
It was further alleged that following the altercation between Emeka Ike and Samuel Onibiyo in the church, the president had joined forces with the chairman of the Anambra chapter of AGN, Browny, to inflict harm on the national secretary.
It was further rumoured that the Nollywood actor took law into his hands and sacked Samuel Onibiyo, who was said to have been injured from the harm caused by the attack on him in Onitsha.
However, sources close to the AGN president denied the allegations terming it as unfounded and baseless attacks to dent the image of Emeka Ike.
Emeka Ike took over AGN Presidency after he won a court order to terminate the appointment of the guild’s female president, Ibinabo Fiberesima in 2015.
However, Ibinabo continues to insist that she is still the president of the union and not Emeka Ike, who reportedly dethroned her.
According to Ibinabo, “There is no rancor in the guild. You see people get confused with tell tales, people just like lies. Did you ever go for an election where Emeka Ike took part in?”
“So how is he the president of AGN? That’s the only question I have for the press because you are giving him audience to talk. Did he run for any position in Actors Guild of Nigeria? No he didn’t!”
“We have tried to settle things between Emeka Ike and I, but it all fell on deaf ears,” the ex-beauty queen told New Telegraph.
When are we going to see the last of all this AGN shenanigans and brouhaha? Na wa oh!
