BREAKING, Nollywood News — The shocking death of Nollywood actress and TV host, Aisha Alli-Balogun took many of us by surprise. She was shot to death by armed robbers in Lagos, and her daughter kidnapped until a ransom was paid before being released.
Aisha Alli Balogun who was the presenter of the comedy show Stand-Up Nigeria, was shot dead by armed robbers on Friday, December 16, during a traffic robbery at Asolo bus stop, Ikorodu Road in Lagos State.
According to eye witness report by PUNCH Newspaper, Aisha was reportedly trying to flee the scene with her daughter when she was shot and her daughter abducted.
Aisha and two other persons were reportedly killed by the bandits, who also whisked away several victims after the operation through the waterways in the area. It was also reported that the assailants shot at people who ran into a bush around the bus stop, leading to more casualties on that day.
It seems highway robbery has become the light of the day in Nigeria, where our so-called law enforcement officers are never around to protect, but are busy harassing transit operators and passengers to collect bribe a.k.a “egunje” as a way of survival.
Aisha’s daughter Faridah Alli-Balogun, the two-year-old girl who was kidnapped by gunmen who shot and killed her mother during a traffic robbery on Ikorodu Road, has been freed by her abductors according to reports gathered by Nollywood Community.
According to PUNCH Metro, the little girl was released by her captors after the family negotiated with the kidnappers and paid an undisclosed ransom.
“The father negotiated with the kidnappers and the baby was released. But he does not want to say anything about the incident for now. The police were not instrumental to the release of the girl,” – a source close to the family told PUNCH Metro on Tuesday that Faridah was released after negotiation.
A friend of the deceased’s husband, Segun Fajol, also told PUNCH Metro on Tuesday that Faridah regained freedom at about 8pm on Monday, adding that she was in good condition.
He said, “Faridah has been reunited with the family and she is very fine. The father does not want further publicity about the situation.”
Late Aisha was one of the contestants at the Next Movie Star reality show in 2011 where Tamara Eteimo was crowned winner.
May the good Lord/Allah be with your loving soul, Aisha Alli-Balogun, and it is our prayer that the perpetrators of this evil act be caught and brought to law. Rest in peace Aisha 😢😢 🙏🙏🙏
